US-16A carries cars through pigtail bridges and narrow granite tunnels toward Custer State Park. Drivers of RVs and trailers should verify tunnel dimensions before committing.

The right role

Continue south through the tunnels after the memorial

After the Presidential Trail and exhibits, Iron Mountain Road carries US-16A south through pigtail bridges and three granite tunnels with framed views back toward the memorial. Keystone is the nearby lunch stop; Custer State Park becomes the afternoon only if Wildlife Loop or Sylvan Lake is chosen in advance.
